Dear fans of “Films in New Caledonia”, Here is a website dedicated to promoting films produced in New Caledonia and supported by our audiovisual fund. As a member of the New Caledonia Government responsible for Audiovisual, I speak on behalf of all the players in the audiovisual industry who appreciate, know, shoot, and live in New Caledonia, to say that this platform was essential for showcasing New Caledonian works, local talents, and our strengths as a filming location! This website, created in collaboration with New Caledonian producer associations, is a fantastic tool for outreach. It is designed to be both an information hub, a promotional showcase, and a practical tool for broadcasters and programmers, providing regional, national, and even international visibility for local productions. It is a window into the images captured on our beautiful island, rich in environmental, social, ethnic, and cultural diversity… images and slices of life constantly fueled by a plural history of discoveries and encounters. It is the place that bears witness to reality, the unexpected, and complexity. The place where paradoxes converge to give free rein to creation and culture.

support fund
“Fonds de soutien” (support grants) are designed to promote the development of a high-quality film and audiovisual industry and the creation of a film and audiovisual heritage in New Caledonia. They also aim to professionalize a cultural industry which creates jobs, generates revenue, and contributes to New Caledonia’s outreach.
It provides outside productions with potential financial support for their projects. The Audiovisual Fund is financed by public institutions: South Province, North Province, Island Province and the Government of New Caledonia, as well as by New Caledonian broadcasters: Canal + Calédonie, NC la 1ère and Calédonia.
Other organizations, such as the Office des Postes et Télécommunications de Nouvelle-Calédonie (New Caledonia Postal an Telecommunication Service) and the internet service provider Lagoon, also contribute to this initiative. This program offers 2 types of assistance: preparation and production. Only projects backed by a New Caledonian audiovisual production company are eligible.

New Caledonian Association of Producers of Fiction
The New Caledonian Association of Fiction Producers brings together the main fiction producers of the territory, all driven by the desire to promote local filmmaking. It has also been a consultative member of the Audiovisual and Film Fund of New Caledonia since its establishment in 2016, working daily to provide its expertise to the New Caledonian institutions responsible for the sector. The “Films in New Caledonia” platform is one of the initiatives we applaud and will become an essential reference tool for increasing the visibility of New Caledonian movies.
Independent Federation of Audiovisual Producers of New Caledonia (FIPANC)
The FIPA.NC (Independent Federation of Audiovisual Producers of New Caledonia) brings together the main audiovisual production companies of the territory. Its mission is to promote and support content production, as well as contribute to the structuring and professionalization of the local audiovisual and film sector. Strongly involved in the creation of the New Caledonia Audiovisual and Cinematographic Fund (FAC NC), she is a member, in an advisory capacity, of its Management Committee. She regularly works to bring her expertise to Caledonian institutions in charge of the sector. FIPA.NC welcomes the creation of the platform «Films en Nouvelle-Calédonie», designed as an excellent tool for referencing local audiovisual and cinematographic works. «Films en Nouvelle-Calédonie» is one of the first concrete responses to the desire to make more visible the productions of the territory, formulated in the recommendations of «Study on the audiovisual and cinematographic sector», realized by the FIPA.NC in 2023.
