Synopsis
In 1941, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in the Pacific prompted the United States to arrest and intern all Japanese families living in the country. A vast operation that was painfully echoed thousands of kilometers away, in New Caledonia. On French soil, on an island that was soon to become a rear base for American forces in the Pacific, Governor Sautot organized the dispatch of over a thousand Japanese to the Nou Island penal colony.
