Synopsis

Most of the inhabitants of New Caledonia did not choose to live together. Nineteenth-century France decided for them. To understand the inner workings of this multi-ethnic society and the questions it raises, we need to go back in time, to when the first human beings set foot in this South Pacific archipelago, and follow in their footsteps.
