Synopsis
In 1853, France annexed New Caledonia and occupied the territory, implementing penal and free colonization. This occupation was to the detriment of the Kanak, the indigenous people. The dramatic series Neuf-Grains depicts a New Caledonian society still tormented by its colonial heritage and fractured identities.
